The song of the birds and the heart
In this exhibition, Elleny Gherghe (b.1994, Romania), a contemporary artist living and working in Sotogrande, Spain, invites us into a universe where nature and femininity intertwine in a whisper of colours and symbols. A graduate of the National University of Arts in Bucharest, with a degree in mural painting (2016), her work draws upon the beauty of nature to portray the woman as an archetype of a bygone era, yearning to merge with vegetation and animals inpursuit of a gentler existence.
Among hidden gazes, breathing flowers, and birds guarding silence, Elleny creates a dialogue between the human and the animal, the real and the dreamlike. The solitude, tranquillity, and subtle blend of forms evoke the spectral aura of historical surrealism. At the same time, each feminine figure seems to seek a poetic refuge where soul and nature mirror one another.
Her works become a song to tenderness, freedom, and the urgent call for reconciliation with the natural world — a reminder that perhaps only in the shared rhythm between heart and wings can we find true peace. Elleny’s works have been exhibited internationally and are part of private collections in Romania, Germany, Spain, Gibraltar, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and the USA.
